About This Course
This course includes a study of the concepts of coordinate and non-coordinate geometry from points and lines through triangles, polygons, and circles. Deductive reasoning, proofs (including derivation of theorems), analytic geometry, and real-life open-ended applications are included. Students investigate geometry through constructions, transformations, and technology.
Algebra 1B is required before taking this course.
Miss Parillo has been teaching at GDRHS for 3 years. Before that, she worked in finance. Miss Parillo received her MAT in Secondary Education from Simmons College in 2013. She also has a MA in Economics from Northeastern University and a BA in Economics from Simmons College.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to buy a textbook?
No. A textbook is provided in the beginning of the semester. However, students can leave it at home as we will rarely be using it in class.
Do you accept late homework?
Department policy requires all students to hand in homework when it is due. Partial credit is not given for late homework. When absent, students are allowed 5 days to make up any missed work.
